Privacy notice

The short version

To review your personal statement we need your statement, your course choices and your email address. We use them only to produce and send your review, and we delete your statement and review 30 days later. We don't sell your data, and we don't use your statement for anything else.

What we collect

Your email address, your personal statement, the universities and courses you choose, and any extra notes you add.

A record of your purchase: the amount, the date, and your agreement to the terms and the cancellation waiver, including the time you agreed and your browser's user agent (kept as evidence of that agreement).

We don't ask for your name, school or grades. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.

Why, and our lawful basis

To deliver the review you bought and to keep the records the law requires. The lawful basis is performance of a contract and, for purchase records, legal obligation.

Who processes your data for us

Anthropic (Claude) reads your statement and course choices to generate the review. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.

Supabase stores your order, statement and review, in London. Vercel runs the website. Stripe takes payment. Brevo sends your review email.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, it is under safeguards approved for international transfers.

How long we keep your statement

We automatically delete your statement and your review 30 days after your review. Until then you can reopen your report from its link; after that, the copy we emailed you is the only one.

Want it gone sooner? Email concierge@chatuniversity.co.uk and we'll delete it. Purchase records (the amount, the date and your agreement to the terms) contain no part of your statement and are kept as the law requires for tax and accounting.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it.

Under 18s

Most people using this service are 16 to 18. We collect the minimum we need to produce a review: no name, school or grades. Your report is only reachable through the private link we give you.
